WIN FOR YOU AND FOR OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED

HOW IT WORKS

Raffle tickets are $50 each and each ticket will be assigned a randomly selected pair of numbers, one for each team.   If those two numbers correspond to the final score of the Super Bowl (or at the end of any quarter), that person wins.  Ticket purchasers need not be at the Super Bowl, watch the Super Bowl, or even care about football to win.  Odds of winning are the same regardless.  This is just a fun way of choosing a winner.  50% of all ticket sales go directly to charitable giving and 50% goes to the winners of the raffle. Tickets will be sold through the morning of the number drawing (two days before the Super Bowl).

Prize payouts (for each completed grid):

Final score: $1000

First quarter score: $500

Second quarter score: $500

Third quarter score: $500

After each 100 tickets are purchased, each ticket holder is assigned a square in the 10X10 grid.  We will then randomly assign the numbers 0 through 9 to each column and to each row, so that each square will correspond to a random pair of numbers (2 and 6, 4 and 3, 6 and 0, etc). Each square represents a specific score in the game based on the column and row numbers with the rows representing the last digit of the AFC football team score and the columns representing the last digit of the NFC football team score.

After assigning the ticket holders to the grid and the numbers to the columns/rows, we will distribute to all ticket holders their respective numbers (two days before the game) so they can have fun watching the Super Bowl and rooting for the teams to score the right number of points.

A winner is determined by the respective scores of the two teams in the Super Bowl.  The winner is determined by looking at the last number in each teams' score, and then matching those numbers on the grid and seeing which square intersects those two numbers. An example would be if the score at end of the game was 23 for team A, and 14 for team B. The last number for team A is 3, and the last number for team B is 4. The winner would then be the person with the numbers (3,4), in that order (not 4,3).

Each raffle ticket purchaser will have exactly the same probability of winning as every other participant.  There is absolutely no skill involved in winning since the numbers (score combinations) are randomly assigned.

We will have 4 total winners for every 100 tickets purchased.  Winners will be determined at the end of the 1st quarter ($500), 2nd quarter ($500), 3rd quarter ($500), and Final Game score ($1000).  Therefore, 50% of the total ticket sales ($5000 for each completed grid) will be distributed as winnings and 50% will go to the Westport Sunrise Rotary 21st Century Foundation, a 501c(3) organization.  100% of each dollar we bring in is then distributed directly to charities.

How we will assign the random allocation of numbers

The randomizing element of the raffle is the assignation of numbers to the rows and columns of the grid.  These numbers will be randomly generated by equal blind lots drawn by the President or other Director the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club, on Friday February 9, 2024 at 9am following the weekly Club meeting at Greens Farms Congregational Church.  We invite any other members of the public that would like to witness.

Payment of winnings

Winners need not watch the Super Bowl or be present at the drawing of the score lots to win.  We will inform all winners (via the email supplied when purchasing tickets) within 2 days after to Super Bowl.  We will then arrange in-person or mail delivery of the winnings of each winner.

Participants will also have the option, upon purchasing the raffle ticket, to pre-assign any winnings to be used for charity instead of taking the winnings.  This assignation is completely voluntary and does not impact the chance of winning.  Should a winner designate that their winnings be given to charity, 100% of that amount will be given to the supported charities.

Multiple grids

Should the interest in the raffle exceed the 100 squares of the planned grid, the Westport Sunrise Rotary will open additional grids as needed.  Any additional grids will be treated exactly like the original grid in terms of assigning the boxes and randomly selecting the numbers for the columns and rows.  The odds for winning remain exactly the same, regardless of grid.  And the procedures of soliciting, paying and completing each grid will also be exactly the same.

In the event that an additional grid is added and the number of tickets sold for that grid do not equal half the total number of squares (100), the Club reserves the right to either continue with that grid or to refund the money of those participants or to assign to that grid all participants choosing to pre-designate their winnings to charity.

You must be 18 or older to participate.
